Mollymauk used his sword to teleport from the gardens to the orchard, where he was killed.
In the orchard, one set of footprints led from Mollymauk's body to the stables, where his head was found. This set still needs to be checked.
Finally... someone, possibly Caiman, came from the stables, cut through the gardens, and went out to the road.
... Maybe that scuffle in the gardens was Mollymauk and his killer, and he used the teleport to get some distance? But instead of following directly, the killer went a different way...
