WEEK 0: MINGLE

week zero: mingle

remaining students: forty-two.

Hey, wake up! Before you're late for school!

The first thing you'll receive when you wake up is a notification: Updated Dorm Wars Standings.

🦋 SPRING: 0
☀️ SUMMER: 0
🍁 FALL: 0
❄️ WINTER: 0

Fall has truly swept over the campus, and the colorful leaves will crunch underneath your feet as you walk through the school. In fact, your adventures might bring you to some new locations where construction has concluded. Take a look around!

On every building bulletin board, as well as on your phone, there's a new posting for this week's Dorm Wars tasks. Check out which answer resonates with you the most, and then get those points for your team! Speaking of your team, it seems like Office Hours are open for all Dorm Heads if you'd like to chat with them. Maybe see if there's anything you'd like to redeem a voucher for?

Once again, a now familiar ringtone plays from every student's phone. The screen will automatically open to the Student Directory. Everyone's ID Cards with their wonderfully flattering and fitting pictures are now out there for the world to see. How do you feel about yours?

A few classes in particular have been highlighted with open enrollment and can be joined for the week:
    PHYS 760: Theoretical Physics
ENG 400: Does Shakespeare Is Gay?
FILM 198: Analysis of the Greats: Cats
ART 100: Coloring Inside the Lines

Finally, there also appears to be a hay ride attraction for everyone to enjoy. Yes, you can ride the tractor. No, you can't cause property damage. In fact, it seems like as you enjoy your hay ride or tractor joy ride, you may hear the occasional growl of a bear.... And just in case you need a nice cozy place to have all these deep, important conversations, a bonfire is located at the central campus lawn with blankets and wooden logs available for everyone to sit on - plus supplies for s'mores! Yay!

[Just. Blinks at her. Before she starts laughing.]

Ahaha, you sure know how to get to the point! Is this for the task?

[she nods, mood light around her, even if it doesn't show on her face.]

I find it's best to be direct in order to avoid misunderstandings.

Right you are! In that case, you'll answer my question in return? It's a fair trade.
divineimpulse: (22.)

[she nods. it's a deal!]

Of course.

Alrighty! It's a deal.

[Now... she crosses her arms, thinking.]

My ideal future, huh? If I had to put it to words, I want to see a future where aaaaall your problems can be solved by simply reaching into your pocket. A future free of pointless things like pain and indecision.

What would you find in your pocket?

Your phone, of course!

[she takes out

her phone

and stares at it.]

...How would it solve things?

[personal profile] txt 2021-06-09 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Through innovation. Obviously. [She wags a finger.] Didn't I say this before? I'm a researcher and developer of artificial intelligence. I make machines smarter so they can improve human lives.
divineimpulse: (32.)

[personal profile] divineimpulse 2021-06-09 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
[she processes those words one at a time, and nods. she didn't say it before, but now she knows.]

Can you give me an example?
txt: (030)

[personal profile] txt 2021-06-10 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
Easy. A concierge application that can answer everyday questions, such as... What are the most popular restaurants in town? Or what is the fastest route to my destination? The answers to both of those questions and more, all in the palm of your hand.

[Helpfully.]

Now, can I ask a question of my own?
divineimpulse: (5.)

[personal profile] divineimpulse 2021-06-10 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
[that seems absolutely insane, but you know what? a few days ago, she could never have conceived of the device in her pocket, right now. so who knew what might surprise her next? she nods.]

Of course.

[Technology is witchcraft, Byleth. That's the truth.]

Alrighty, how far would you go to reach your goal?
divineimpulse: (77.)

[personal profile] divineimpulse 2021-06-10 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
To the edge of the world.

[personal profile] txt 2021-06-11 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Just to the edge?
divineimpulse: (43.)

[personal profile] divineimpulse 2021-06-11 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose if could find some more world to go to the edge of.

Ahaha, fair enough. I just expected you to say something like— to the stars and beyond!
