WEEK 0: MINGLE

remaining students: forty-two.
Hey, wake up! Before you're late for school!
The first thing you'll receive when you wake up is a notification: Updated Dorm Wars Standings.
☀️ SUMMER: 0
🍁 FALL: 0
❄️ WINTER: 0
Fall has truly swept over the campus, and the colorful leaves will crunch underneath your feet as you walk through the school. In fact, your adventures might bring you to some new locations where construction has concluded. Take a look around!
On every building bulletin board, as well as on your phone, there's a new posting for this week's Dorm Wars tasks. Check out which answer resonates with you the most, and then get those points for your team! Speaking of your team, it seems like Office Hours are open for all Dorm Heads if you'd like to chat with them. Maybe see if there's anything you'd like to redeem a voucher for?
Once again, a now familiar ringtone plays from every student's phone. The screen will automatically open to the Student Directory. Everyone's ID Cards with their wonderfully flattering and fitting pictures are now out there for the world to see. How do you feel about yours?
A few classes in particular have been highlighted with open enrollment and can be joined for the week:
- PHYS 760: Theoretical Physics
ENG 400: Does Shakespeare Is Gay?
FILM 198: Analysis of the Greats: Cats
ART 100: Coloring Inside the Lines
Finally, there also appears to be a hay ride attraction for everyone to enjoy. Yes, you can ride the tractor. No, you can't cause property damage. In fact, it seems like as you enjoy your hay ride or tractor joy ride, you may hear the occasional growl of a bear.... And just in case you need a nice cozy place to have all these deep, important conversations, a bonfire is located at the central campus lawn with blankets and wooden logs available for everyone to sit on - plus supplies for s'mores! Yay!

Honestly he's a nerd who's only had fantasy AU Japanese teas before, so he's a little overwhelmed by the sheer selection. TIME TO MAKE IT SOMEONE ELSE'S PROBLEM.]
Could you? I'll leave it in your hands.
no subject
Peach Oolong.
[and she's already away, brewing some for both of them.]
no subject
Oh? I don't think I've ever had a tea flavored with fruit before.
[The future........is wild. He will wait politely while she works, watching with his hands neatly folded.]
Have you tried any particularly unusual flavors?
no subject
There was one that smelled exactly like ice cream. That was interesting.
no subject
...Did it taste exactly the same as well?
no subject
Even if a tea smells sweet, it's rarely the case with the taste.
[for example
she holds out a cup of freshly brewed tea for him!]
Smell it first, then taste it.
[peach oolong is not very peach tasting, after all.]
no subject
At which point he looks a little surprised.]
--Ah, I can see what you mean. With a name like that, I expected it to be very peach-forward.
no subject
It's refreshing—not overwhelming.
no subject
[A nod! It suits him just fine since he has a delicate baby palate and enjoys mild flavors.]
Thank you for selecting this one - it was a good pick.
no subject
[she sips her own mug of tea, nodding over the edge.]
How are you doing this week?
no subject
...Well enough, I suppose. Though it's still a lot to adjust to, and I can't say I'm particularly fond of the idea of staying here for a long time...
[Even with them saying time is essentially frozen back in their own worlds.]
no subject
I feel the same.
[it's unnerving. and people can just say whatever they want—they have no way of checking on whether or not it's actually true.]
no subject
Mm. Well... I suppose for now we'll just have to take our dorm heads at their word and believe they're working on a solution to this.
no subject
I wonder if they will.
no subject
That's the unfortunate part about relying on someone whose face you've never even seen before. No way to tell, really.
no subject
[she drinks the tea.]
We're just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
no subject
I don't suppose you've heard any useful, new information... Most of the new things I've heard have more to do with making the most of our stay here.
no subject
no subject
Well, that's not correct in the least.
[And now he's just sitting here like wow this entire intergalactic school is run by a bunch of PUNKS. No wonder this game is full of Karens, they're the only ones who will survive.]
no subject
But we have no recourse to fight it, at the moment.
no subject
[Year-long murdergame...]
no subject
They mentioned money for a "trip back home".
At the least, I'll try that.
no subject
A trip back home? [Stranger and stranger things are surfacing. God.] How convenient... Though "a trip" sounds like a very temporary situation.
no subject
anyway
she purses her lips, face drawn.]
Even a temporary trip could be worth the cost.
[just to. get out of here for a bit.]
no subject
...Well. I can't disagree... And once we're out, we could perhaps find a way to keep from coming back.
