Wow. Weekends sure are wild.

Whatever time everyone wakes up this Sunday morning, they'll see a message on their phones, much like the previous day. This one states:

The expulsion of Kaoruko Hanayagi will take place at the Athletics Field at 1PM.

When the time comes, there will be no mysterious compulsion to head over there. It seems like this event isn't a mandatory one to attend. Everyone who does make their way to the stadium will see that the field has changed into something, uh, a little different, with some music playing in the background. No one is allowed to walk onto the field itself, except for Kaoruko who is already standing in the center, and everyone will have to immediately get onto the stands to take a seat.

Once it hits 1PM, a voice will ring out from some kind of speaker system.

"A challenger approaches! Will Otome Yanagiya please come to the field?"

Otome will immediately start walking, regardless if she wants to or not. A path will allow her to get there safely. No one else will be able to follow her; while there isn't a physical barrier stopping them, they'll find that they simply cannot move their feet to step onto the same path.

[ he leans a little closer to him without taking his eyes off the stage, and without looking away but with the reluctance that comes with not wanting it to be true: ]

I question it every day we're here. It could be like how the Palace was - how it changed.

It would explain a lot, if it wasn't. You know that. Viola seemed pretty sure it wasn't our situation when I talked to her, but that's sort of how it works, isn't it?

[JUST SCOWLING DOWN AT THE STAGE FOR MANY REASONS.]

I know that. [ doesn't make him hate it any less. ] Viola and the other heads could be in the same situation as Hashita was, living in Amatsuki as Utsubushi.

[Nodding. Yeah. YEAH THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HE'S THINKING. I hope someone else overhears this stupid vague spoilers conversation. Anyway.]

That means the whole "wish" promise might be fake too.

Maybe. We shouldn't put our stakes on it, regardless, because it's pretty obvious this place actually doesn't care about our wellbeing and wishes.

[He visibly deflates, shoulders slumping, hand ruffling fretfully through his hair. He clearly.... have a very specific wish planned already. Kon can probably guess what it might have been.]

[ god, this is miserable. he knows what they'd all talked about, before, so he has a pretty good guess. hopefully the wish turns out legit - but he's not optimistic, here.
