Welcome to Winter Term! Everything is distinctly colder, even some of the animals around campus retreating to warmer pastures. It's not snowing... yet, but you get the feeling it's imminent. All the banners that had their motto shifted over the weekend seem to have reverted back as well. In fact, your adventures might bring you to some new locations where construction has concluded. Take a look around! Don't forget to peer over at Dean's List. Not to mention this is a school campus, which means things are changing all the time - keep an eye out.

On every building bulletin board, as well as on your phone, there's a new posting for this week's Dorm Wars tasks. Check out which answer resonates with you the most, and then get those points for your team! Speaking of your team, it seems like Office Hours are open for all Dorm Heads if you'd like to chat with them. Maybe see if there's anything you'd like to redeem a voucher for?

Though if you're looking through your phone, it appears that the profiles for Lan Wangji and Lila Rossi have both disappeared. Expulsion is a hell of a drug.

There are a few advertisements around campus for the week's Winter Formal - maybe there's someone you'd like to ask? Or you don't need to make it a big deal, it can be whatever. Just like the idle touches that you feel the need to leave on other people's persons. This week, you'll feel compelled to be a little more tactile and prone to touch than other weeks - soft touches probably, but you can also get rough if you want, I guess, I'm not the boss of you.

A... "space archivist"? That makes little sense—how would one even get up there?

[NODS FIRMLY.]

First Ones tech! That can take you out in space easily.

I... do not. 'Tis truly that simple?

[oh, now it's her turn to look confused.]

First Ones...? Is that the name of your space exploration program?

[superjock]

Oh, no, that's the name of an alien race that had super advanced tech on our planet thousands of years ago.

[...]

But the spaceships still fly.

[arcsplainist]

That must be truly impressive technology. Well, this is but a work of fiction wherein anything is possible...

Now, the true question is who shall end up in this spaceship of ours?

[She visibly perks up, opening her mouth with a look on her eye like she's about to ask a million questions — until Alphinaud reminds them why they're here.

And she totally deflates.]

Aw... Adora-san, you simply have to tell me all about the First Ones later. You will, won't you? If you don't, I think I'll die of curiosity.

[But, anyway...]

... Riegan-san?

Yeah, I don't mind.

[She has no idea what she's getting into.

A beat.]

Uh... is he a particularly archivist sort? We need someone... [nerdy] ... bookish?

[arcsplainist]

Naught tells us we cannot twist the truth by some, should it become necessary.

Hmm... Then how about Yanagiya-san? It doesn't get more bookish than having a doctorate under your belt!

[Alphinaud, you should have offered yourself. Don't let this happen to Otome.]

We could write a whirlwind space opera romance for her.

What's a space opera romance? How's it different from a regular space romance?

That's right! They don't have to be good enough for Yanagiya-san. In this world, we can backspace their faults away and make them worthy for her affections. It's the magic of fiction.

Huh... alright, I guess that's true.

I guess we should just pick a love interest then?

Oh, not so much, I say. An oven has a fairly mundane use, does it not? Our scene can take place during a repast.

Hmm... Say, one was planning a birthday cake for the other. And when they overheard their plans, it totally ruined the surprise! [CLAUDE VOICE:] You shouldn't have heard that, Otome-sensei... Ahaha, something like that.

Sounds kinda ominous for a birthday cake, but I think that sounds like a nice story.

Maybe Claude's trying to have a sneaky birthday party before Otome has to go back into space? For her... space books?
