On Friday morning at 7AM, everyone will find that they're now able to leave their suites and dormitories. How will they know the time they can leave? Well, it's because it's hard to ignore the fire alarm that's blaring in every building of the campus, and also the fact that all of the banners and materials with the school crest seems to have changed into something different? Hm.

Is this a practice drill? Did someone pull the alarm? Perhaps there's an actual fire somewhere. There's only one way to find out.

Maybe you should look around.

Welcome Students, to the third investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6PM EST and another set at 7PM EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.

We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8PM and 9PM EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9PM EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).

[YOU KNOW WHAT'S ANNOYING? THAT FIRE ALARM. Catra hisses as she grabs one of her ears with her uninjured hand and pulls it down, as though doing so will shut off the noise]

Why does that stupid alarm have to go off every time?

[she's standing right outside the health office b/c i flipped a coin for which one we'd do first and here we are]

anyway yamato's inside the common room what's up is it on fire he hasn't gone out yet ]

[how did he end up here? it's fine, he's probably checking places people hit last week and so he hears catra yelling as he enters the health office and does an immediate sweep of the room. are the cabinets open at all? more bandages on the floor? how are we looking?]

The same reason anything happens in this dumb school. Probably just to piss us off.

[at this point Manwol's gotten used to this deranged fire alarm by now!!! anyway she'll head on over to the classroom building, but before going in she's going to just take a look around outside... she grimaces,]

[oh hey, rita's showed up here too, looking very irritated at the alarm.]

Yeah, I'm getting pretty sick of this whole routine, actually.

[ crow just has his hands over his ears, fullstop. ]

[ anyway is there anything on the ceiling? i haven't done a ceiling check in three weeks and it's making me twitchy. ]

[it's fine beau was on her way here anyway, immediately, and she's holding kon's hand and basically dragging him across the way to fall. she comes right up to the door and whams her fist against it. presumably. unless it's on fire.

[Truly hope Fall Dorm is on fire and Ichinose and Taichi are now fucking blind. Wow.

But she presumably arrives around the same time as Taichi, sparing Catra a glance and — saying nothing? Huh. The look on her face is pretty flat as she simply approaches the Health Office and takes a cursory glance at their surroundings. Hewwo? What's immediately apparent?

Also, because I almost forgot: Is there anything outside it? If she looks at the exterior walls, windows, roof, the ground...? Etcetera?]

[There aren't any discernible footprints, but Manwol will find that the windows of a first floor classroom have been shattered. Alas, no convenient body.

As Rita and Crow walk into the building itself, they will see droplets of blood at the entrance.]

[ yeah, kon's coming along - though beau should notice that his hand is cold for their trip along, until she's basically brought it back up to proper temperature by the time she's banging on the door. is there anything outside that looks amiss?

he extracts his hand but leans against her to fuckin. text yamato to let them in before beau has an aneurysm, as stated in chat, please let it go through. ]

[Well, one thing is obvious when they stand outside the health office: the door is looking pretty damaged! Everything else seems normal, though.

Including the inside, which looks undisturbed.]

[The Fall Dorm is on fire!








No, it's not. In fact, the area looks pretty undisturbed. Aside from whatever mess you might've made last night or this morning, I don't know your lives. But Yamato might notice that a couch pillow is missing. Specifically, from The Couch. You know which one I'm talking about.

Nothing looks amiss about the outside of Fall Dorm, though.]

[Manwol just waves a hand at Crow in response. it's fine.

:( no body.... hope it's on the ceiling

She'll approach the broken window carefully, is there glass or anything else on the grass outside or is that all inside? if she can, she'll get close enough to look at the window frame too]

[Catra gives Taichi a withering look and Ichinose a slightly confused?? one?? but then she limps towards the broken door to get a closer look at it! how is it damaged? scratches, dents, bite marks, broken hinges-- etc etc]

Guess we don't have to look too hard to find anything suspicious this time.

[how much blood, and where? is it on the floor, walls, door? did it drip down from the ceiling, was becks right to stare at the ceiling?]

other than that he's gonna see if it looks like there's a trail? is the blood leading anywhere or is it just here in this entrance. being bloody. ]

Probably should go over it with a fine toothed comb just in case though.

Uh. [wow what. he will let catra check the door damage out as he enters the room. everything seems normal and undisturbed but that doesn't mean it's not. so he will check the cots? under them, the papers on them, etc. just to be sure.]

[ oh there's banging on the door. he notes the missing couch pillow and frowns a little. i am guessing y'all mean a decorative pillow and not a whole ass cushion. did bradley take it to go take a nap outside. a mystery.

anyway he'll come open the door damn ]

I'm fine. [ it's not like he saw all of fall so he can't comment on the REST, and he is glancing back at the dorm with a frown ] ... There's a pillow missing from the couch in there, though.

She will walk around the Health Office building to see if there's anything else wrong with the exterior, checking the grounds around it. But if there's nothing? She will join Taichi inside to check the ceiling, and then the medical supply cabinets. Are those still locked, or did someone unlock them overnight?]
