On Friday morning at 7AM, everyone will find that they're now able to leave their suites and dormitories. How will they know the time they can leave? Well, it's because it's hard to ignore the fire alarm that's blaring in every building of the campus, and also the fact that all of the banners and materials with the school crest seems to have changed into something different? Hm.

Is this a practice drill? Did someone pull the alarm? Perhaps there's an actual fire somewhere. There's only one way to find out.

Maybe you should look around.

Welcome Students, to the fourth investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6PM EST and another set at 7PM EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.

We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8PM and 9PM EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9PM EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).

[She glances at Rita. Her left arm is still pretty limp by her side, but she lifts a leg and wiggles her foot.]

I can walk just fine. Don't worry about me.

Anyway! Footprints. Is it just one set of footprints, or are there noticeably more than one? Are they shoe prints as well, or are they barefooted? Animal prints...? If they're not animal prints, though, she will compare them to her own feet. She will also snap a picture of her foot next to the prints for size comparison.]

[Tsuyukusa gives her a vaguely suspicious look.]

Let me know if anything changes, alright? Don't go making your injuries worse.
[And since Ichinose has the photographing taken care of, Tsuyukusa will go to follow the footprints to see where they lead!]

[rita's also gonna stop to check out the footprints and snap some pictures. she's got a measuring tape, so she'll try and take some measurements.]

[They're probably still close to the road, so they find one set where they are. It's larger than Ichinose's feet, and in terms of where it's heading, it leads to the road (where the trail basically ends, since nothing leaves footprints on the sidewalk/road/what have you).

Rita can get a very rough measurement of [mumbles some range], so that you can inevitably do your feet check in trial.]

[Hm. She snaps a picture of Rita's measuring tape against the footprints, just to have that on hand for trial.

Anyway! The footprints lead to the road, but do they originate from deeper in the gardens? Is there anything off about the road itself? If there's nothing there, she will carefully make her way over to the greenhouse. How's it looking from the outside?]

[Yeah Tsuyukusa will follow the footprints the other way to see if there's anything that direction??

If not he's going to follow Ichinose to the greenhouse.]

If there's a body in here I'm going to personally wring the culprits neck.
[His HERBS!!! He's gonna open the door unless Ichinose finds something or there's a body in front of it like last time.]

[neat! rita whips out her notebook and makes a note of the foot size in an indecipherable scribble.

and yeah, checkin' to see where these footprints came from!]

[This particular set of footprints cuts through the gardens, but if they look further down the path, they seem to originate from the stables. Which, like the orchard group, you cannot access, alas.

The greenhouse looks fine from the outside.]

Time to look inside the greenhouse. Is there anything visibly off? Any strange smells or sounds?

[Once again, Tsuyukusa is very familiar with the greenhouse. He is obviously looking for anything immediately obvious as well but he's also going to make sure none of the plants have been disturbed, in particular. They are important.]

[well, while they're stepping in there, might as well give the outdoors another look before joining them: anything out of place among the flowers out here?]

[Nothing is immediately off about the greenhouse. No strange smells or sounds. The plants look fine.]

[Cool! She will make her way over to the equipment in the greenhouse, looking at the walls, floor and ceiling as she goes. Everything good?]

[If the only thing to find here is the footprints I'm going to lose my mind.

Anyway usually the planters in a greenhouse are elevated, right? Tsuyukusa is going to look under all of them, as well as checking to make sure there's nothing buried in the dirt in the planters, or the dirt on the floor.]

[rita's gonna join 'em, idk if there's anything else to look at so she's checking out the equipment too!]

[It seems that a pair of garden shears is missing from the equipment.

Otherwise, nothing is out of place in the greenhouse.]

[Truly hope the gardening shears were used to decapitate Molly. Wow.

Ichinose crosses her arms and looks at the gang.]

I'm not seeing a lot... Is that good, or bad?

[Is... Is there anything they haven't checked yet? Maybe a table that isn't mentioned in the locations page...?]

I mean, the alarm still went off, so maybe there's just... stuff somewhere else.

[But he's going to go outside and give things another once over?? There's nothing else unusual to find in the garden even if he looks really carefully???]

Somebody took a pair of shears from here, so... I guess they were preparing to go attack someone.

[she glances out in the direction of the road, where the footprints lead...

but i'm guessing anything beyond that isn't part of this location, so we're just hanging out here a little longer. hey flowers, tell us your secrets.]

[Well.

As was established earlier in this thread, when you were outside, you were only in the area by the road + the path the one set of footprints took, before you went straight to the greenhouse.

If Tsuyukusa goes out and looks elsewhere in the garden, the next thing he comes across is an area where it looks like there was a scuffle. There's a mess of footprints moving around that area and dirt's been kicked up and about.]

We are just very bad at reading comprehension, ig.

Well. She will let Tsuyukusa and Rita take a closer look at the scuffle, but is it just the one set of footprints again? Or are there visibly more than one set? She will do another foot comparison + picture if there's a new set of prints mixed in.]

[We are but I'm glad I was stubborn and desperate!!!

Tsuyukusa will crouch down to take a picture because he's seen the others doing it. And he will give it a closer inspection while crouched, to see if there's anything that might've been dropped in the scuffle, or blood or anything.]

Maybe they went to grab a weapon because there was a fight here?

[taking a picture of the scuffle spot because it's the cool thing to do!

and she'll do a walk around the surrounding area, in case anything's dropped nearby from the scuffle, objects, blood splatter, more disturbances in the dirt or whatever?]

[There is visibly more than one set. They're all mixed about so it might be hard to get an idea of exact size, but she'll see that all sets are bigger than hers, at least.

There is a tiny splatter of blood in the scuffle.

The next thing Rita finds, as she walks around the area, is a bit of a distance away: a set of footprints abruptly begins, leading towards the orchard (which she cannot access).]

[Fair enough. She snaps a picture of them next to her feet just in case. Is she able to tell how many sets there are, exactly? Or is all she's able to tell is that there is definitely more than a single set?

She will take a closer look to make sure there's, like. Nothing buried in the dirt or hidden under the flowers or something.]

Rita-chan, Tsuyukusa-kun. Did you find anything?
