On Friday morning at 7AM, everyone will find that they're now able to leave their suites and dormitories. How will they know the time they can leave? Well, it's because it's hard to ignore the fire alarm that's blaring in every building of the campus, and also the fact that all of the banners and materials with the school crest seems to have changed into something different? Hm.

Is this a practice drill? Did someone pull the alarm? Perhaps there's an actual fire somewhere. There's only one way to find out.

Maybe you should look around.

Welcome Students, to the fourth investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6PM EST and another set at 7PM EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.

We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8PM and 9PM EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9PM EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).

Some... where... in the orchard, so who knows who between Lux or Byleth is finding this, but they find patches of wet dirt! And stained dirt, too.]

[byleth joins lux in investigating where someone wet the grass bed.

is there anything within the perimeter of this? any other evidence nearby, bushes an errant body might be sticking out of?]

[The stain is a deep red-brown colour, so it's probably blood.

The wet patches are like... streaks? Average-sized?

Byleth will see that they are on or around a set of footprints.]

[How long are the streaks? He'll compare them with his foot, and then take a picture with his phone.]

but lux is still inspecting the blood stain... does the shape of it imply anything? like, does it look like it was a spray, or a spill? is it messy, or all just very concentrated to one spot? ]

Careful—there's some footprints here, too.

[where do they look like they're going? she's going to leave the other two to the grass stains if there's a direction they head off in, and follow it.]

[The streaks vary in size. Some might be smaller than his foot, some might be larger.

The blood stains are basically a small amount of splatter.

The footprints lead further into the orchard, where Byleth will find a body lying in a pool of blood.]

[Wow, streaks! Totally will focus entirely on these. Body, what body? No body here. He does not perceive. Bye.]


[Actually, no, wait, Byleth is going somewhere. He instantly notices, moving to follow.]

[ lux snaps a photo of the blood stain and wet spot and then will follow mandricardo over to the body.

but, like, slowly. because she's injured as shit. ]

she crouches down to observe the body. is this a corpse body or a sleeping body. i won't jump to conclusions, even if there is a pool of blood racily suggesting things to me.]

Luxanna, we've found someone.

[Well, the body is missing a head, so it's likely dead. And because it's missing a head, you can't identify it!










No, it's purple and has a tail, who the fuck else could this be. Mollymauk Tealeaf is dead.]

[He just. Stops cold in his tracks, and goes pale.]

[That's....that's Molly's body, alright. Hey, buddy, did you lose your head over all these emotional bottoms?]

[ when lux gets close enough, she's just going to touch byleth's arm for a little bit of support. ow her fucking leg.

she adjusts, giving her full support as lux wobbles from the leg pain.]

Let's spread out and see if we can find the rest.

[Molly's body just chills there, I suppose.]

[And he kind of...looks uncomfortable doing it, but he snaps a couple of pictures, before bending down to examine. I GUESS HIS COAT IS GONE UNLESS HE HAD LIKE TEN OF THEM. Are all his limbs there? Is he just in a pool of his own blood?]

[I know I'll be cucked from extreme body examination but yeah. Mandi's just being thorough.]

[ lux also doesn't really think she can go that far, so she's inspecting the area around the body a little more.

is the body on it's back or on its stomach? and are there any signs of it having been moved to where it is? presumably there is some blood, but does it look like there are any drag marks or drops leading away from the body? ]

[mandi is getting the body proper, lux is doing a minisweep, can byleth do a larger sweep out from the body? she fans out, searching. is there more footprints, or more tracks? a head, perhaps? an extra one??]

[Oh, I almost forgot.

The body is on its back, and a sword made of gold is sticking out of its chest.

Byleth's search will turn up... well, she can establish/summarize all of the footprints: there is a set of footprints, going from the body and heading to the stable (this would be the first set they found in the investigation). There is another set of footprints heading from the garden area, leading to where the body is (the second set they found).]

[He....can't take the sword. He can't. He won't. He just stares at it, before shaking his head.]

All of this...what the hell...t-this is way too much...

I can't...take the sword out. I won't make you do it, so when Byleth gets back...I'll ask her to do it.

[well, byleth is doing her best to take photos of this overall summary, but considering the fact that the footprints are hard to see, she's struggling. but she heads back to the other two, in the meantime...]
