On Friday morning at 7AM, everyone will find that they're now able to leave their suites and dormitories. How will they know the time they can leave? Well, it's because it's hard to ignore the fire alarm that's blaring in every building of the campus, and also the fact that all of the banners and materials with the school crest seems to have changed into something different? Hm.

Is this a practice drill? Did someone pull the alarm? Perhaps there's an actual fire somewhere. There's only one way to find out.

Maybe you should look around.

Welcome Students, to the fourth investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6PM EST and another set at 7PM EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.

We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8PM and 9PM EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9PM EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).

anyway i guess Mabel is now shepherding the traumatized Maya to the STABLES then!!! hope, you get a picture, because Mabel's not gonna think to do so ]

[ hope is on picture duty i guess sure ok he takes a picture of zzz malik and the coat before maya and mabel take off, then he follows trailing slightly behind them because he still has a busted leg hewwo.

i'm pretty sure the answer is going to be no but do they see anything on the way anyway im legitimately in tears ]

[They continue to find nothing else out of place in the Spring Dorm.

They see nothing unusual on the way to the stables.]

Mabel is gonna look for any blood or damages to the stable that might imply a kerfuffle! ]

[ SURE OK I GUESS HOPE IS HEADING TO SOME BALES OF HAY TO SEE IF HE CAN MAKE HEADS OR TAILS OF WHAT TO LOOK FOR HERE, DO THE THREE OF THEM MAKE ANY HEADWAY INTO FIGURING OUT WHAT HAPPENED

[There are horses chilling in their whatever you call where horses are in stables, vocabulary fails me right now.

The first thing they'll notice is a pair of bloody garden shears on the ground. Something else is sitting not far from it.]

[ maya is going to ask the horses what they saw........... while checking out this sitting mysterious thing while i scream irl ]

[ oh no. Mabel doesn't like this ominous nonsense!!! If Maya's got the mysterious thing covered, I guess Mabel is gonna look at the garden shears a bit more--is there any blood around them that would indicate they were, uh, used here?

She goes to pick them up, but then rethinks, takes a picture, covers her hand with her glove-sleeve like last week, and then picks it up by the....least bloodiest end. ]

[ with mabel on the shears, hope tentatively follows maya in case she gets distracted trying to cross-examine the horses, phone already out with camera app open. ]

[The horses will tell Maya they saw nothing! They were asleep throughout the night, mainly. At some point noises somewhere outside did wake them up briefly, but otherwise it was a nice and peaceful night, unlike last week.

There is some blood and gore near the mysterious thing.

Which, for the record, is Molly's decapitated head!]

[ maya asks them to describe the noises and then ]

[ she's also got the presence of mind to take a picture, but. uh. yeah. ]

[ well, she does anyway, and she jumps back a little with a yell. ]

M-M-Molly! What do we--do we have to...take it with us...?

[ hope actually finds himself a little annoyed at maya's comment, even if he knows she's coming from a nice place. ]

...We're going to see what happened tomorrow anyway, Maya.

[ he grimaces, which only deepens when mabel asks what to do. he's running on pure adrenaline now, and he's trying so hard not to let his emotions get the best of him, especially with the other two already there... so he steps up, both figuratively and literally, holding his free arm out to maya. ]

Here– give me the coat after you take the picture. I'll use it to...carry it. [ beat ] Him. Then one of you grab the shears.

[ on the off chance that this murder is even more deranged, is there anything else they could have possibly missed in the surrounding area? ]

[dormheads]

[The horses just say noises.

There doesn't seem to be anything else in the stable.]

.. I've got it. [ maya says distantly, after they've both looked and pictures have been taken. hope's right, there's no point in hiding it. but, uh, she's about to wrap the head, but-- if it gets more bloody, it might be harder to examine, so. she offers that to hope ]

[ then takes off her own outer kimono covering to wrap up the head and pick it up, hands shaky but managing ]

[ any other animals..... to question....? if so maya will question them in the same way before we hit time ]
