WEEK 6: MINGLE

remaining students: 26
Hey, wake up! Before you're late for school!
The first thing you'll receive when you wake up is a notification: Updated Dorm Wars Standings.
☀️ SUMMER: 184
🍁 FALL: 233
❄️ WINTER: 273
It's time. It's here.
On every building bulletin board, as well as on your phone, there's a new posting for this week's Dorm Wars tasks. Check out which answer resonates with you the most, and then get those points for your team! Speaking of your team, it seems like Office Hours are open for all Dorm Heads if you'd like to chat with them. Maybe see if there's anything you'd like to redeem a voucher for?
Though if you're looking through your phone, it appears that the profiles for Leo Valdez, Tsuyukusa, and Otome have all disappeared. Expulsion is a hell of a drug.
A few classes in particular have been highlighted with open enrollment and can be joined for the week:
- ENG 101: Basic Storytelling
DATE 400: The Art of the Pick Up Line
FILM 345: So Bad It's Good - Genius Cringe Movies
CUL 725: Popsicles
In order to combat the weather, it seems like there are quite a few stations set up around campus. There's a bunch of faucets that weren't there before, coupled with incredibly necessary supplies. Go for it, you know you want to. All's fair in love and Dorm Wars. Though it may be just a little concerning when, for very short blips at a time, you might be able to hear a clip of someone's thoughts as they happen.
TUESDAY TOWN HALL
Time for another town hall meeting. Same classroom as last time. Bring any information, field trip clues, letters of interest, and whatever else.
[Rita's pinned a couple papers to the blackboard for all to see, and has written out a number of topics for discussion:
- Dorm Heads Regressing
- Letters from the Dead
- Marquee & Dean's List
- Weekly Hints & Field Trip Clues ]
All right. We've got a lot to discuss.
First off, this ongoing crisis with the Dorm Heads. All four have regressed to their false selves at some point in the past couple days; some of them multiple times. It seems to be getting harder for them to come back each time. Some people have been able to snap them out of it, and at other times, they snapped themselves out. There has to be something we can do about this.
Next, a lot of us received letters from the dead. I'm not gonna make you spill the details if it was personal, but at least let us know who sent 'em, and if they had any messages that all of us should hear. I know some of them did.
The dead left us another message on the marquee in the cafeteria, and we've yet to really figure out what the significance of the dean's list is. If you got a theory, share it.
Lastly, I believe we all received a new clue in our lockers: All items retrieved from field trips are truthful. We might wanna review the things we've collected until now and see if there's anything we've been overlooking.
[and hey, she's got a few more things pinned up for easy perusal! the week 3 hints, the week 4 hints, the mysterious voice hint.]
If you've got a topic you think needs discussing, bring it up. Let's get to work.
letters from the other side...
Catra's main advice was that we're overcomplicating things and sometimes the simplest answer is the right one. I think other people got similar sentiments in their letters. [ there's a beat and he adds, tiredly; ] Also that people need to stop sending her letters about Adora.

I got one from Adora talking about how she died. Nothing really important to getting us out of here, just her being nice. If they're all listening, I got it.
[...] And uh, thanks.

Aside from some personal messages, he says "leave this side to us."
... Also got some doodles from the lizard. Says they're doing their best down there. The first half's mostly for me, but he had something important to say in the bottom half, so.
[she folds her letter in half and shows this!]
"Keep stuff to remember. Don't forget each other."

Lan Wangji sent me a letter. He said what more they know they've "deemed unsafe to share for the time being." And that us discussing all this stuff is helpful to them, probably because they're watching us.
They're doing fine though. He's keeping record of these stuff on their side in case memories get wiped like what happened with Lucretia and Kon.
I got one from Catra, too, but it's not that important. Thanks though. [the thanks is to the cat who may or may not be listening.]

Hey, Lila, feel free to push Tsuyukusa down that hallway as long as you fetch him out afterwards? And maybe find a way to play Take On Me while you do. [ no one will understand this, except lila, it's fine. ] We're going to find the Hail Mary on our side, so see you soon.
[ and then to everybody else: ] Molly, Mabel, Maya, and Sakyou - she made sure to ask that I say thank you, to you specifically. So, thanks. She misses everyone, but there's only so many letters that they can send from their side. But she did say that she'd see things said in public, so if you have anything you want her - or the rest of the daycare - to know, keep that in mind.

[ he's not sure if he should smile at this, but he does look touched. and then a little amused. ]
Also, Rupert indicated to me that I am stupid, and that he was behind some mischief that befell me earlier. Thank you, Rupert.

I also got a letter from Caima--uh, Aikawa! He gave me applesauce! [ she lifts her now-bedazzled cup of applesauce out of her little dedicated fannypack papoose ] Thanks, Aikawa!! I love it!

Bradley's letter was interesting -- he said "shadowy figure gave us the man + dog photo from the welcome pack. Might be the thing that doesn’t fit? “Plot hole”? Bear + Dorm. Heads don’t know fuck all about it. Medium onto something."
...I'm assuming that he means the picture we all got the first day that was included in our backpacks. Does anyone still have theirs?

weekly info buy + dorm heads
Well, the weekly info was a memo directly from the story itself to us written in red ink. It talks about how the story wants to know who and what it's meant to be, and that if we want to be heroes so badly, we should wait for the villains to show up, and see if we'll still be able to strike them down. That evil needs a "face". It was signed "who am I?", and since Sunday, like Rita said, most of the Dorm Heads have been losing themselves back to their school selves.
We're keeping an eye out on Riku in Fall. I don't think having someone around them will necessarily stop it, but it helps as a way to snap them out of it faster and have someone aware, maybe. Even if it's hard on them, we have to keep trying to bring them back this time around.

coupon use!
...So, last time we got these sets of coupons, I went and talked with Iris about what they did. Specifically, I asked her about the "Communication" coupon, because I wasn't sure what that could do, and it didn't seem like anyone else really knew, either. She said then it couldn't be used to contact the daycare, and it couldn't be used to talk to "Iris", since I was talking to Viola, at the time. [ learned that one the hard way... ] But she also said it could be used to talk to things we might or might not see, or understand things we might or might not understand.
...I got a communication coupon, this time. I was thinking I want to use it to try and talk to the story. I'm gonna go with Beau and Molly, if I can, but - since it's dangerous, and the time is gonna be limited, and there's gonna be side effects, I want to plan out what we should ask it, or what to say to it, as a group.
...If anyone else has a communication coupon, I don't mind being the guinea pig. If it works, then we should try and split the load and get as much out of it as we can.

Marquee & Dean's List
So maybe this week's message means... "Maya was right about the two sleepers and one victim"?
Also... "mufasa voice." [she'll just make a pointed stare at some modern to prompt them to explain.]
