On Friday morning at 7AM, everyone will find that they're now able to leave their suites and dormitories. How will they know the time they can leave? Well, it's because it's hard to ignore the fire alarm that's blaring in every building of the campus, and also the fact that all of the banners and materials with the school crest seems to have changed into something different? Hm.

Is this a practice drill? Did someone pull the alarm? Perhaps there's an actual fire somewhere. There's only one way to find out.

Maybe you should look around.

Welcome Students, to the second investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6PM EST and another set at 7PM EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.

We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8PM and 9PM EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9PM EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).

[Tsuyukusa is scowling as he traipses along, and he is supporting Sieg as he goes because like hell is he letting you walk around on a bum leg he is a MEDICAL TREE, SIR.]

I can't believe that not only did some new idiot get murdered, but they did it at the same time as last week.
[JUST ASSUMING. Anyway general state of the field? Is there a body in the same place as the last one because he is going to be looking by the bleachers again.]

[Thank you, medical tree.

Supported by Tsuyukusa to his left and splinted on his right wrist with a couple of chopsticks over a handful of condoms, Sieghart is here!

Hey, that's enough of that. We knew this would happen.

Let's just focus on what we can find here.

[He takes a look around. What type of field are they looking at? And because he's accompanied by Tsuyukusa, Sieghart winds up around the bleachers as well, but his view is set on their general surroundings.]

Ahaha, guess someone decided the school could do with a brand new tradition.

[Sieg putting those condoms to good use, huh.

But, yeah. What sport is the field set up for right now? She will give the field a cursory glance as well, but since the boys have the bleachers covered, she will instead focus on the open building nearby. Anything immediately obvious there?]

[There is not another body by the bleachers! Tsuyukusa won't see anything off near them.

It's presently a baseball field.

Ichinose will see footprints in the ground leading towards the open building.]

[Tsuyukusa hates this school and it's shitty access to medical supplies. Anyway he didn't see any footprints so I guess he's just carting Sieg over to the baseball field to see if he can see anything in the dirt of the diamond unless that's where the footprints are in which case he is useless.]

It didn't have to happen... People really should have learned after what happened last Sunday.
[SULLEN.]

[While Tsuyukusa inspects the diamond, Sieghart looks over at both of the dugouts.]

It didn't have to, but it did.

[Let's leave it at that for now. To Ichinose, he calls out:]

Do you see anything?

[... Hm. She takes out her cellphone and snaps two pictures: One of the footprints by themselves, and one of her foot delicately placed next to the prints as a size comparison. How big are the footprints compared to her feet? And are these footprints from someone who was wearing regular ol' shoes, or is there something special about them? Can she tell anything about the person's stride?

After a beat, to Sieghart:]

I might have found a little something. I'm checking it out.

[She takes a look around to see if there's anything else on the trail, and then keeps following it. Can she see, hear or smell anything else that's off on the way to the open building? She will also look up to make sure there's nothing just hanging out on the roof.]

[dormheads]

[Tsuyukusa finds... dirt. Doesn't look like it's been disturbed.

Likewise, Sieghart finds nothing in the dugouts.

There seem to be different sets of footprints. Many of the footprints are roughly around her size. One set is larger than her and seems to have been barefoot. Stride-wise, all sets are headed straight for the open building.

She sees, hears, and smells nothing off. No geese here, phew. Nothing is on the roof or the outdoors ceiling, either. However, on the ground near the open building, she will see something shiny.]

[Well having found nothing, Tsuyukusa is just going to follow Ichinose to the building. He is an idiot with no caution or the idea of not messing up evidence so he is just going to go right into the building, unless Sieg stops him. Does anything jump out immediately about the inside?]

[ercnerd]

Whoa, stop for a second.

[He does want to go; however, he also wants to make sure that there's nothing amiss with the door or the surrounding wall, as well as the ground before them, before he limps inside with Tsuyukusa. Ichinose can handle the outside.]

[Is she able to tell at all how many different sets there are? She will compare her foot and take pics of any she can pick out from the bunch.

Also, does it look like everyone was calmly walking side by side? Do they overlap like maybe they were made by someone following after? Or are they messier and spaced like whoever made them was running? I'm sorry for the thousand questions, mods.

Anyway, she salutes the boys! And then heads to shiny. What's up?]

[Good thing Sieghart stopped Tsuyukusa from walking right in, because that would've been very rude to the body on the ground outside the building? Don't flaunt your ability to walk into buildings when they're right there, wow.

There's nothing amiss about the exterior of the building itself, though.

There are three sets of footprints. There's overlap and they're on the messier side.

As for the shiny, she finds a fencing rapier, snapped in half.]

[I'm in tears I'm glad Sieg stopped Tsuyukusa from walking over the body.

Anyway who the fuck is it.]

[Like he knew but now he Knows.]

[Imagine if Sieghart tripped over the body and broke an arm.]

Don't be so quick to assume. Are they breathing?

[Unless the body is visibly missing a head or some such, in which case he says nothing. Either way, he steps away from Tsuyukusa to lean forward for a closer look at the body.]

[Cool! So one barefooted, larger set and two sets that are wearing shoes and close to her size?

Congrats on your body(?), boys. Ichinose glances over....................... and if they're not missing a head or something super obvious:]

Careful you don't get headbutted, now.

[Imagine if they're actually dead. Wow.

Well, anyway.

She takes a picture of the rapier in the state she found it in, which— by the way, does it look like someone just dropped it here or is it positioned in a specific way? Any blood or marks on the rapier? Is it snapped cleanly in half, or is the break more towards one side? She nudges the broken pieces with her foot to roll it around in order to see all sides, assuming it's not impaled.

Besides the body(?) and the broken rapier, is there anything else if she walks around the building to check outside? If not, is there anything else blocking the way to the archery area?]

[Correct, Kyuu. Kyuurrect?

The rapier looks like it's been thrown on the ground. As for how it's snapped, it's pretty much in two halves. The half with handle is bloodied on the end that is not the handle.

Near the body, she'll find a dumbbell. There doesn't seem to be anything else if she walks around the building, and there's nothing blocking the way to the archery area.

As for the body itself, they're not breathing. They're easy to identify, though.

Lan Wangji is dead. Like, for real.]

[Cool and great!! Tsuyukusa doesn’t know this guy so he just scowls a moment before crouching down to follow Sieg’s instructions and confirm the guy is dead. Since mods said he is;]

He’s dead. Why aren’t people even trying to hide these bodies?

[ercnerd]

[They didn't really know each other, but they did speak the one time. Sieghart straightens after a brief pause. There's nothing to be done.]

Come on. We'll move him once we've finished investigating.

[Once he's supported by Tsuyukusa again, he'll head inside the building to take a look.]

[............ Bloody like someone got stabbed with that half after it was already snapped, or like someone touched it? Either way, yikes.

She takes a picture of the dumbbell before she inspects it. Is the dumbbell marked up or bloodied in any way? And again, does it look like it was just dropped to the ground? How close to the body is it, anyway? She'll think to take a picture of the body, too, for reference. But if that's a no-no, we can just say oops she didn't tap the button.

She stares at the body, like she isn't sure what to do with it.]

... Hmm, maybe they were in a hurry to avoid getting caught. I see three whole set of footprints, but only one body.

[A pause, staring at the corpse for a second longer. And then she moves on to the archery area.]

[dormheads]

[As Tsuyukusa crouches down to check the body, he'll see a few small marks in the dirt nearby.

The broken rapier is bloody like someone got stabbed, potentially.

The dumbbell does not have any markings or blood. It looks like it fell to the ground, pretty much right by the body.

Everyone abandons the corpse. Poor Lan Wangji. But nothing appears out of place in the building or in the archery area.]

[branches]

[Oh??? What are these marks??? Can he identify them as anything specific or are they just generic The Ground Has Been Disturbed.

But yeah after that he is abandoning the corpse to usher Sieg inside.]

I guess? They left a weapon lying around, too.

[ercnerd]

[They'll be back. In fact, seeing that there's nothing out of place at a glance, he beckons Tsuyukusa to go back outside. He also raises his voice enough for Ichinose to hear him.]

. . . I don't see anything here. We can revisit this area later. Let's collect him and go back.

[And they can all take a look at the marks again while they're there.]

... Right. I'll leave him in your capable hands, and take the weapons back with me for tomorrow.

[She snaps a pic of the marks, too. And will also take a look just in case it's something modern-ish?? Or, like, that could potentially be explained by the rapier or dumbbell. What do these marks look like, man.]
