Good thing yesterday was just a dream, huh?

Just kidding. Everyone will wake up to a text on their phone that has only a simple message:

Go to the gymnasium at 12 PM. Attendance is mandatory.

Everyone is free to go to the designated spot on their own, but once it hits 11:55, any stragglers will feel compelled to go and will join the others at the gym. As soon as every student is inside, the doors will lock behind them.

All of the bleachers are out, so students are free to sit wherever they like. At the very front of the gym is a gathering of a few items, one being a large desk where two of the Dorm Heads are present. When the clock hits noon, the scoreboard turns on, starting a countdown of nine hours.

From where she's seated, Sally speaks.

"You have nine hours again. It's... you'll be able to do it. Work hard."

Better get to it. That scoreboard is ticking.

Hello everyone and welcome to our fourth trial! the next nine hours, the characters are expected to discuss among themselves, ask questions, examine the bodies of the victims, look over the evidence found yesterday, and revisit locations as needed in order to find the culprit(s). There'll be a one hour break from 5-6 PM EST, where no mod tags will occur.

Before the trial is over, please remember to place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9 PM EST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

[ my only good news to everyone this trial is that yamato cleaned up, so at least now the only thing obviously wrong with him is the bandages on his face

but since absolutely everyone is asking them if they're okay to meddling results, he won't bother to do more than just look at them in obvious concern before getting down to business ]

If we need it, will we be able to get a receipt like last time?

Gardens

[rita's here, dressed in a red robe with a white cowl. she gives a long stare in the direction of mollymauk's body... then closes her eyes for a few moments, and steps up to give a report.]

... I checked the Gardens with Tsuyukusa and Ichinose.

We found one set of footprints leading from the stables, cutting through the gardens and leading to the road. There was a second set that started abruptly and then led towards the orchard -- maybe someone used a teleportation spell? I got measurements on the prints so we can compare, but at a glance, both sets are bigger than Ichinose's, and the ones going to the orchard were a little smaller than the ones headed to the road.

We also found signs of a scuffle with a mess of footprints and a tiny splatter of blood. It's a little too chaotic to tell how, if at all, those prints relate to the other ones we found. It looked like there were two sets involved, and it could have been the same two we found nearby, but I can't say that for certain.

Lastly, a pair of garden shears were missing from the greenhouse, which was otherwise undisturbed.

On the back of his head in the hair that's left is a big hole.

Inside the hole, everything is empty.

At the edge of the hairline on the neck is a tattooed eye peering up at Caleb.]

[. . . reaches for the pendant to lift it from his neck, allowing it to rest in the palm of her hand]

[focus, Catra!! her ears flick forward as she takes a closer look at the marks on his neck. do they look like they could have come from the chain of the pendant? if the skin doesn't look straight is it like. . . twisted in a certain direction??]

[ . . . . for nier in particular viola looks at him a moment, as if trying to decide if she wants to say something, before nodding]

[ Local trial-goers cope by drinking soup straight out of the bowl.

But no, he's showing up still banged up but better than last night and looks kind of sadly at the two of them over there. This is sad, everyone is sad. ]

[ . . . . there's a soft little sigh like she's trying to maintain her emotions.]

Mm. I appreciate that.

Please get results today that all of you will find acceptable. I'd hate for him to have something to lord over us.

AUDITORIUM

[disreguarded]

[forgive beau, she is sitting down! her hair is down over her face, too, covering a lot of the like, third degree burns on her face that look like they've been healed to second. she also looks like she didn't sleep much the night before.]

There wasn't a lot in the auditorium, but. There was a huge pile of clothes on the ground. Like costumes. Crow's body was above it on the catwalk, hanging from a rope. It snapped and his body fell. The catwalk was really unsteady. We might wanna go back to look at that at some point.

[ghoststrums]

[ it's fine. no one look behind the curtain. ]

Thanks, Viola. [ there's a pause ] We'll figure things out.

[There's an expression of cold fury that comes over his face, but he swallows it down, lets it settle into something more measured. He will finger the hole carefully. How big is it? How clean it is? Does it look a neat cut? Like something punctured his skull? A blast injury, or an entry wound for a bullet?]

It was in the gardens. Wasn't near the road or the greenhouse. We didn't quite go as far as the orchard.

[The bruising marks are thick and sort of braided in design, definitely not from the thin chain.

The skin is mostly swollen, making it uneven, but also the angle the head is tilted doesn't help. His head just limply rests toward the right shoulder.]

[Mandricardo steps up, looking sullen - he's still wearing the armor and the dunce hat. Fashion, people.]

Um. Byleth, Lux, and I went to the orchard. There were...two sets of footprints. One goin' from the body to the stable, and another heading from the garden to the body. Along the way of the second set, we saw some, uh patches of wet and stained dirt. The stains were like...really deep red, kinda splattered, so...probably blood. The patches looked like streaks but I didn't see anythin' that looked like drag marks, I think...

[There's a pause, and a deep breath.]

We then found Molly's body, and he was...headless. He was layin' face down, and he had a golden sword stickin' out of his back. I think there was also a drippy trail of blood leading from the orchard to the stable. And I...think that was it. If I missed anythin'...Lux and Byleth, just say it.

Oh, and me and Luxanna took some pictures of the footprints and the body, so if you need those for reference, they're there.
