WEEK 3: TRIAL

victims:

Good thing yesterday was just a dream, huh?
Just kidding. Everyone will wake up to a text on their phone that has only a simple message:
- Go to the gymnasium at 12 PM. Attendance is mandatory.
Everyone is free to go to the designated spot on their own, but once it hits 11:55, any stragglers will feel compelled to go and will join the others at the gym. As soon as every student is inside, the doors will lock behind them.
All of the bleachers are out, so students are free to sit wherever they like. At the very front of the gym is a gathering of a few items, one being a large desk where two of the Dorm Heads are present. When the clock hits noon, the scoreboard turns on, starting a countdown of nine hours.
From where she's seated, Sally speaks.
"You have nine hours again. It's... you'll be able to do it. Work hard."
Better get to it. That scoreboard is ticking.
Hello everyone and welcome to our fourth trial! the next nine hours, the characters are expected to discuss among themselves, ask questions, examine the bodies of the victims, look over the evidence found yesterday, and revisit locations as needed in order to find the culprit(s). There'll be a one hour break from 5-6 PM EST, where no mod tags will occur.
Before the trial is over, please remember to place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9 PM EST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.
If you have any questions at any time, please let us know by pinging us on Discord!

I know Mollymauk made some purchases, and I can guess at them, I think, but might need assistance. If he used them in the murder, they would be on there, yes?
no subject
That's correct. If those purchases were used and were relevant to what happened to him, they would appear even if they weren't purchased that Thursday.

No, they cannot be accessed by anyone but the person who it's assigned to.

Yes - but do consider the price you were quoted earlier.

Are you asking me personally? I wouldn't even sell it. I think better of you than that.
no subject
Because a teleportation coupon was used by someone, and the most likely person to have used it has no memories of that night, it seems. But no purchases large enough to count for someone being lucid enough to press that button but unaware of what they've done.
no subject
That sounds correct to me based on what you've all gathered today.
The base price remains the same - 12. So there are only a few conclusions left for you to reach, I suppose.

[He pauses for a moment and then frowns.]
. . . How much for an ability that would make me impervious to magic?
no subject
12 Vouchers base price - once a week, only impervious to one spell for a limited time. Discounts negotiable.
Your theories are equally sensible to me, given the possibilities that you are eliminating.

But I'm not sure what result you'd get if someone didn't remember but the intention was still to retrieve the truth.
no subject
Is there a reason he wouldn't remember, other than simply. . . being asleep?
no subject
... we've learned this week that memories are fickle things, aren't they?
I'm afraid I have no additional insight on this. But I do think... you can stand to be more confident in yourself.

[But he will give her a small, slightly more genuine smile.]

You work hard. I've seen it all day today.
That's why I'm comfortable betting on you.
