Good thing yesterday was just a dream, huh?

Just kidding. Everyone will wake up to a text on their phone that has only a simple message:

Go to the gymnasium at 12 PM. Attendance is mandatory.

Everyone is free to go to the designated spot on their own, but once it hits 11:55, any stragglers will feel compelled to go and will join the others at the gym. As soon as every student is inside, the doors will lock behind them.

All of the bleachers are out, so students are free to sit wherever they like. At the very front of the gym is a gathering of a few items, one being a large desk where two of the Dorm Heads are present. When the clock hits noon, the scoreboard turns on, starting a countdown of nine hours.

From where she's seated, Sally speaks.

"You have nine hours again. It's... you'll be able to do it. Work hard."

Better get to it. That scoreboard is ticking.

Hello everyone and welcome to our fourth trial! the next nine hours, the characters are expected to discuss among themselves, ask questions, examine the bodies of the victims, look over the evidence found yesterday, and revisit locations as needed in order to find the culprit(s). There'll be a one hour break from 5-6 PM EST, where no mod tags will occur.

Before the trial is over, please remember to place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9 PM EST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

The general receipt of exchanges since Thursday and all purchases related to murder will be available for free again at the same time.

Coordinating ahead of time will give you more time to sit with both pieces of information.

Yes, good thinking. It will still be five vouchers for the hint? So we should collect them at 5 PM, if we want one.

[He just nods at the Sally comment.]

I believe that would be wise. Dividing the expense so it doesn't fall on one person's shoulders.

Otherwise I think you're all organizing well for your strategy today.

[no huge tangents about biting yet that's good news]

Viola, I don't have much optimism for this, but if we were to ask you about the types of powers people have purchased, could you confirm whether something like that exists?

For example, could I ask you if anyone has purchased an ability that could wipe someone's memory, or an ability that could control their mind similar to the coupons, or an ability that could pilot the body of a sleeping person?

[azuta]

[ . . . she looks thoughtful about this, tilting her head as she tries to figure out her wording.]

We're restricted in our ability to disclose existing purchases, so that is something I cannot do...

However I think there's another way to ask your question that can yield answers if you are able to think of it.

Do you mean a question I could ask you that you would be able to answer? Or a question I'd have to put to the group?

One that I can answer. If you reframe your thinking a little and ask a different, but related line of questioning... I should be able to help more.

Do you mean, perhaps, asking whether I could purchase a power? Such as. . . how many vouchers would it cost to purchase a memory erasing power or a mind control power?

Why, I'm glad you asked.

It would work differently from the coupons, but something of that nature would begin at 12 base price.

I see. For both memory erasing and mind control?

[she shakes her head]

Separately. Rather, it would be 12 each.

And how much would you charge me if I wanted my own version of Mandricardo's armor, working once per week?

[azuta]

[she wants to tease about starting a fashion trend but the vibes are still bad]

They'd likely be separate... Armor would be about 7, and the power would be about 6, which would come out to 13. Since I'm fond of you, I could consider making it a little cheaper.

[katzepaw]

Six for only one use a week? What about once per day?

[He smiles a little at the 'fond of you' part but it's slightly thin.]

. . . I wish we understood the sleeping people better. What Kon saw in Caiman's memories - could those just be how the memories of a person who fell asleep outside ordinary look?

Upgrading it to more than that would require more vouchers in a separate purchase - beginning at 6, but we can't discount or fluctuate the prices of upgrades.

[but she looks thoughtful about the mention of kon's power]

.... perhaps ask Kon to review the specifications of his power, and what was negotiated in the terms. I think reading the fine print on things helps.

Thank you, Viola. Do you think we could get our hands on those receipts now?

[she looks relieved at being asked]

Yes - and allow me to reiterate the terms. All purchases made on this receipt show coupons approved or transactions made on Thursday on, but also includes purchases made relevant to murder even if it was not on Thursday. Please remember that well.

I know Mollymauk made some purchases, and I can guess at them, I think, but might need assistance. If he used them in the murder, they would be on there, yes?

That's correct. If those purchases were used and were relevant to what happened to him, they would appear even if they weren't purchased that Thursday.

Viola, if I had someone's phone, would I be able to use their coupon?

No, they cannot be accessed by anyone but the person who it's assigned to.

What if I used some form of mind control, could I force them to use their coupon?
