Good thing yesterday was just a dream, huh?

Just kidding. Everyone will wake up to a text on their phone that has only a simple message:

Go to the gymnasium at 12 PM. Attendance is mandatory.

Everyone is free to go to the designated spot on their own, but once it hits 11:55, any stragglers will feel compelled to go and will join the others at the gym. As soon as every student is inside, the doors will lock behind them.

All of the bleachers are out, so students are free to sit wherever they like. At the very front of the gym is a gathering of a few items, one being a large desk where two of the Dorm Heads are present. When the clock hits noon, the scoreboard turns on, starting a countdown of nine hours.

From where she's seated, Sally speaks.

"You have nine hours again. It's... you'll be able to do it. Work hard."

Better get to it. That scoreboard is ticking.

Hello everyone and welcome to our fourth trial! the next nine hours, the characters are expected to discuss among themselves, ask questions, examine the bodies of the victims, look over the evidence found yesterday, and revisit locations as needed in order to find the culprit(s). There'll be a one hour break from 5-6 PM EST, where no mod tags will occur.

Before the trial is over, please remember to place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9 PM EST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

[ ... his hand stays there, for a minute. but there's nothing that comes with it like he'd expect, when he pulls away. quiet, for a beat, brow furrowing.

he pats caiman, in the same spot. ] Thanks. Head up, man.

[ his voice raises as he turns to address everybody: ] Nada.

He was moving, but there's not actually a memory - there's an absence of it. I couldn't actually pull anything to look at, so it was a sensation of movement, and lasted for only probably a minute.

... What? What the fuck does that mean.

What if he was sleeping? What if he was one of the sleepers outdoors, but his body was used?

[ He's seconding Beau with this one. He gets up and just looks like -- idk, what his icon looks like I guess. ]

[ he's obviously frustrated but it's not at anyone, and he draws it back in. ]

It could be a few different things. Could be like our hint, in that it's better timed in the later half.

Could be that he was, genuinely, a sleeper in the time period I aimed for.

Could be that he was overwritten.

So-- something took his memory from him? Forced amnesia?

If the pattern persists that two people are outside every Thursday night, then perhaps he was encountered by someone... or they controlled his body, somehow.

. . . So maybe something a little like sleepwalking?

Could you tell what the movements were?

No, it was - vague, and only lasted for the minute that the "memory" did. But there was nothing for me to actually see, so that could imply that the memory was overwritten or he was unconscious.

...Is this more evidence that he was controlled or forced to do it? Like brainwashing...

It's not conclusive for anything except theories. [ tiredly ] But considering that we're largely operating on the theory that the killers aren't being given a choice in what they do, it's a possibility.

... So whatever happened, he wasn't awake or aware of it.

That's my major guess. No matter what it was that happened.

Even with memory loss, he's still shared memories with people this week - there would be something there if it wasn't tampered with if he wasn't unconscious. No matter the meaning of the word.

This does make finding the true culprit harder. But it's a relief to have some assurance that it wasn't Caiman in control of himself.

Yeah. It doesn't... eliminate, necessarily, but it does at least push more towards the theories we've been working off of.

Movement like he was walking or just in general? Like he was carried or something.

A minute doesn't seem long enough to have killed Molly in one place and left the head in another.

...I have to wonder if it's possible that he was, in fact, one of our usual sleepers, but that it ended so quickly because something else took over at that point. After he had been moved outside.
